Anthony Pass pitched a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts, leading No. 3 West Allegheny to a 1-0 victory over No. 14 Fox Chapel in a Class 5A baseball first-round game Tuesday.
With two outs in the bottom of the first, Colin Marinpetro tripled and scored on a wild pitch to produce the game’s lone run for West A (16-4). Jacob Patterson, the Fox Chapel (7-6) starter, allowed two hits and struck out nine in six innings.
