Jonah Cagley last year became the first Fox Chapel diver to win a WPIAL championship.
Saturday, Cagley did it again.
Cagley won his second consecutive gold medal when he topped the field at the WPIAL Class 3A championships at North Allegheny.
A junior, Cagley won with a score of 536.85 points. Mt. Lebanon junior Owen Johns was the runner-up for the second year in a row. Johns finished with 514.70 points.
Freshman David Manelis joined Cagley as Fox Chapel divers placing in the top three. Manelis was third with 501.80 points.
Mt. Lebanon senior Lucas Bumgarner (482.50) placed fourth and Pine-Richland senior Austin Shaw (442.70) fifth.
For the girls, Penn-Trafford junior Paige Kalik claimed the WPIAL Class 3A title by scoring 440.40 points.
While Kalik’s medal was her first, the second- and third-place finishers were the same as last year. Hampton senior Adrienne White (423.05) placed second for the third year in a row and Latrobe senior Taylor Miller (403.50) finished third for the second year in a row.
Seneca Valley junior Katelyn Caccamo (359.85) was fourth and North Allegheny freshman Maya Ennis (339.85) fifth.
The top five finishers advance to the PIAA swimming and diving championships March 14-17 at Bucknell University.
