Number One Seed for Playoffs

Fox Chapel’s seed in the WPIAL volleyball playoffs is new. Its position is entirely familiar.

Although the Foxes were tabbed as the No. 1 seed for the first time when the brackets were released Monday, they’re more than familiar with being the biggest target, having held the top spot in the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association’s rankings all season.

“I don’t think it’s anything new to us,” Fox Chapel coach Phil O’Keeffe said. “I don’t see (players) becoming (worried that), ‘Oh no, we’re the No. 1 seed.’ Hopefully, they’ll handle it well. For the large majority of the season, they have handled it well. I guess I’d be more concerned about our opponent than our seed.”
