Fox Chapel boys basketball coach Zach Skrinjar finally got his wish: a healthy starting lineup.
Now he’s able to apply it to the WPIAL playoffs. So far, it is working.
Fox Chapel lost four of its first seven games to start the season, but the Foxes were missing two key parts of their frontcourt in 6-foot-5 sophomore Jake Livingston and 6-2 senior David Brown, both out with injuries. Senior guard and top scorer Billy Urso also wasn’t 100 percent for some time. He played in games but did not practice because of a sore back.
But that trio is back and healthy, and the 12th-seeded Foxes (15-8) are in the Class AAAA quarterfinals after a 49-35 win over No. 5 Pine-Richland. [Due to the weather the play-off game has been rescheduled for Monday.]
