Fox Chapel pulled off its second consecutive upset of the WPIAL Class AAAA playoffs.
After taking down No. 5 Pine-Richland last week, No. 12 Fox Chapel (16-8) defeated No. 4 Hempfield, 44-39, in a quarterfinal-round game Monday in front of a standing-room only crowd at Norwin.
Fox Chapel will face No. 1 North Allegheny at a site to be determined on Wednesday. Hempfield (20-3) drops to the consolation round and will face Bethel Park 8 p.m. Tuesday at North Hills.
