Spotlight Athlete: Claudia Guerrieri

Claudia Guerrieri, a junior at Fox Chapel, has been on the girls basketball team since she was a freshman.

When leading scorer Gabby Badway went down with an ankle injury earlier this season, Guerrieri who plays guard, kicked her play up a notch and helped the Foxes win a pair of games in the Shaler tournament. She hopes to continue playing basketball in college, where she plans to major in business.

For her efforts, she is the Herald spotlight athlete.

What sport would you be playing if not basketball?

Probably golf or tennis.

What part of your game do you want to improve?

My defense.

Who’s your favorite Pittsburgh athlete?

Antonio Brown.

Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?

I always like to play music before a game.

What TV show makes you want to change the channel?

“Dance Moms.”

What three items have to be in your refrigerator?

Orange juice, strawberries and edible cookie dough.

What is your favorite TV show?

“Grey’s Anatomy.”

What would make up your all-time favorite meal?

Waffles, toast, eggs and muffins.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

West Palm Beach.

If you could go anywhere you’ve never been, where would you go?

Probably Greece.

What are your hobbies?

Reading, skiing and working out.

What junk food do you have a weakness for?

Cookie cake.

Is there a food you refuse to eat?

Shrimp.

What song would you sing if you were on “American Idol?”

“Home” by Phillip Phillips.

What movie could you watch over and over again?

“The Great Gatsby.”

The Flume concert.
