Girls’ LAX Goes to States, First Time in School History

Despite a heartbreaking overtime loss to Pine-Richland at the WPIAL championship finale, 12-11, the Foxes still advanced to the PIAA girls’ lacrosse championships for the first time in school history.

The contest for the gold crown against Pine-Richland was a dogfight from the beginning, and continued to be so through the last seconds of regulation play and then in overtime.

Senior All-American Meg McCrady, a Georgetown recruit, had five goals, followed by two each from fellow senior Ali Wessel, junior Kate Goodwin, and freshman Sloan Rost.

The team, which was undefeated in the regular season and now is 20-1, will face State College on Tuesday evening, May 30,  at Cumberland High School in the first round of the PIAA championship.
