The WPIAL Class AAA track and championships were held at Baldwin High School on May 14 and in what has become a ritual of spring as of late, Fox Chapel produced a champion.
Elias Graca finished first in the 800-meter run and set a new WPIAL record in the process with his time of 1:52.86. He qualified for the PIAA championships this weekend at Shippensburg University and won’t be going alone.
Teammates Mike Bove and Caelan Miller also qualified.
“I was pleased overall to be sure,” FC coach Tom Moul said. “This is the third year in a row that Fox Chapel has had a WPIAL champion. Colin Martin and Brandon Mitchell won last year, along with the 4-by-4 team. The year before, it was Ethan Martin, Brandon and the 4-by-4 team.
