Fox Chapel saw its three-year run of playoff appearances end last season.
The latest group of Foxes seem intent on not letting that become a trend.
Four up, four down so far for Fox Chapel, which has sprinted to a 4-0 start. It’s a far cry from last season when the Foxes started 1-7 and didn’t win their fourth game until Jan. 13. They went on to finish 11-11.
As Fox Chapel’s competition has gotten better, so have the Foxes. They beat Imani Christian and Gateway to claim the Plum tournament title, won their home opener against Shaler, and then went on the road to claim an impressive 65-56 win against North Hills. The Indians were a WPIAL Class 4A finalist last season and once again are very strong.
Junior guard Carson Cohen is off to a great start for Fox Chapel. He scored 30 points against North Hills as he outdueled Indians star Nick Smith, who finished with 23 points.
