Fox Chapel missed few opportunities to put points on the board in its Quad North showdown Friday night against Shaler.
The Foxes (3-3, 2-3) scored 29 unanswered points and rolled over host Shaler, 43-10, at Lou Martig Stadium, climbing back into the thick of the postseason race with their first back-to-back wins since the opening two weeks of the 2009 season. They now hold the fifth spot in the conference. The top five teams automatically qualify for the playoffs.
“I was very nervous with the first quarter and a half,” coach Eric Ravotti said. “It was a good football game. It was a tight football game. I’m just glad our kids found a way to win.”
