Annamarie Alfery, Deena Debaldo and Dixon Veltri will go separate ways beginning in the 2017 soccer season. Until then, they will continue to make life difficult for Fox Chapel’s opponents.
All three juniors committed to play Division I soccer over the past year — Alfery to Akron, Debaldo to Duquesne and Veltri to UNC Wilmington.
“It’s amazing that all of our hard work finally paid off, that our dreams are coming true to play Division I college (soccer) and go to schools we all love,” Alfery said. “It’s just an amazing accomplishment to be a part of the same school and have three Division I commits.”
Alfery said she and Debaldo had been playing soccer together since they were “4 or 5,” and the two began playing with Veltri a few years after that.
They now play together for Beadling Soccer Club, a top club organization in the region that typically has several Division I-committed players.
