The Fox Chapel boys and girls track teams recently wrapped up their 2016 season, a rewarding one according to coach Tom Moul.
“We had a nice season and some good success stories to be sure,” Moul said.
The girls 400-meter relay team of seniors Olivia Van Dyke and Arla Sisson and juniors Katherine Kauma and Maddy Lucey broke a school record that had stood for 10 years.
Freshman Annika Urban (3,200) and sophomore Caelan Miller (1,600) won medals at the WPIAL championship meet and qualified for the PIAA championships. It was Miller’s second trip to the state meet.
“We had a very good group of seniors, and leadership was provided by our captains Maura Whelan, Daly Trimble and MVP Arla Sisson,” Moul said. “For next year, long and triple jumper Taylor Thiele should be poised for a good season, along with sprinter Maddie Lucey, thrower Eras Yager and distance runner Sarena Seeger.”
