By Marty Stewart Published: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, 9:01 p.m. The Fox Chapel girls tennis team saw its season come to a close Oct. 14 as it fell to Peters Township, 3-2, in the WPIAL Class AAA quarterfinals. “That was a tough loss,” FC coach Alex Slezak said. “We came incredibly close to getting past the tipping point and advancing to the semis. It was especially tough for Kelly Friday, one of our seniors, who gave it her all at No. 3 singles before falling 7-5, 7-6.” The Foxes ended up with a 15-4 record and along with Friday will lose seniors Elsa Lagerquist, Kaitlyn Schaffer and Emily Katz.
