Patrick Sheerer hasn’t had much down time during his summer break, but it has been equal parts work and play. Sheerer, an O’Hara Township resident who will be a senior this school year at Fox Chapel Area High School, has been spending most of his summer playing in golf tournaments both locally and nationally.
“It’s been great,” Sheerer said. “Usually it’s just my dad and I who go [to out-of-town tournaments] and it gives us a lot of quality time together. It’s been a lot of fun.”
Sheerer won his second Kings Junior Tournament of the summer July 8, shooting a 72 to take the boys 17-18 year old age group title at Tam O’Shanter Golf Club near Hermitage, Lawrence County.
