Spotlight Athlete: Kristen Friday

Kristen Friday, a sophomore on the Fox Chapel girls tennis team, has been a solid singles player all season. She is one of the reasons the Foxes are 13-3 and advanced to the semifinals of the WPIAL team playoffs.

She’s been playing since she was 5. She also on the Fox Chapel track team. For her efforts, she is The Herald Spotlight Athlete.

What are your hobbies?

Tennis, running, golf, reading and knitting.

Who is your favorite tennis player?

Roger Federer.

On an average day, how many text messages do you send and receive?

200.

If you weren’t involved in tennis, what sport would you be playing?

Golf.

Do you have any superstitions or rituals before a match?

No. I’m not a superstitious person.

Do you watch any of reality TV shows?

No.

Who would you like to see disappear from public view?

Caitlyn Jenner.

What’s the strongest part of your game?

My forehand down the line.

If you were a contestant on “American Idol,” what song would you be singing?

“Closer” by The Chain Smokers.

What is your favorite TV show?

“Grey’s Anatomy.”

What would make up your all-time favorite meal?

Steak and pasta.

Stone Harbor, N.J.

If you could go anywhere you’ve never been, where would you go?

Greece.

Cookies. I love cookies.
