Michael Marsico, a senior on the Fox Chapel baseball team, tossed a no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Woodland Hills last week. He also belted a double and triple and knocked in a run.

“By about the fifth inning, our bench got kind of quiet,” he said. “Everybody knew I was working on a no-hitter.”

It wasn’t the first no-hitter for the Marsico family. His father, Dean, tossed one for Fox Chapel in 1978.

“My dad had told me about that,” Marsico said. “It was pretty cool to match him.”

Aside from pitching, he also plays first base and center field. He also is on the golf team and will be attending Coastal Carolina after graduation and major in golf management. For his efforts, he is The Herald Spotlight Athlete.
