Fox Chapel senior Matt Herrmann, a goaltender on the Foxes’ soccer team, is one of the main reasons coach Erik Ingram’s team is having another strong season.
The Foxes entered the week 8-4-2 overall and 8-2-1 in Section 3-AAA, good for second place behind Franklin Regional (9-5, 8-2).
“Matt has been a tremendous presence on the team this year and a strong mentor to the younger goalkeepers,” Ingram said. “He has produced many game-changing saves this year that have allowed the team to stay in games that they otherwise wouldn’t have been in.
“His leadership has allowed the younger, less-experienced players to develop within the program as Matt has a great personality and is a nice young man all around. The program is going to miss him after this year, and we wish Matt nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”
