For the first time in 20 years, the Fox Chapel boys tennis team will have a new coach.
Dave Prevost, who coached a total of 35 years at Fox Chapel, retired and was replaced by Alex Slezak, who has had a successful run as the Fox Chapel girls tennis coach.
“This will be my first season as head coach of the boys tennis team, and it looks to be a very good one,” Slezak said. “We have a combination of seasoned players and extremely talented freshmen.”
Returning players include seniors Sid Rajupet, Lucas Fennell and Tommy Fennell, along with juniors Neil Bencherif and Jared Cohen and sophomores Kurran Singh and Karsten Lagerquist.
Slezak also has some talented freshmen ready to step in and contribute in Robby Shymansky, Jared Nord and Jay Kashyap.
