The Fox Chapel diving team has been on an upswing for the past few years, and coach Vernon Yenick believes this year’s edition will also be a strong one.
“The team looks great this year despite having no home pool due to construction,” he said.
The team has been practicing at nearby Shady Side Academy while renovations are completed.
“Last year, we had four WPIAL qualifiers — all finalists — and I expect that three will be finalists this year and possibly two move on to the state championships,” Yenick said. “Graduate Addison Lynch was a PIAA qualifier and is now at UCLA, though not competing but with a possible coaching career ahead. We’ll miss his contributions.”
