The Fox Chapel softball team started last week with a 14-0 win over Section 2-AAAA opponent Allderdice on April 4. Calle Zmenkowski picked up the win with Tawnya Holben, Samantha Olbrich and Eva Speacht hitting triples.
In section action April 6, Fox Chapel lost to Franklin Regional, 7-6. The Foxes’ two-run rally in the top of the seventh fell short. Zmenkowski took the loss. Olbrich hit a three-run homer and added a two-run single for Fox Chapel, and Alyssa Guzzie had three hits, including a pair of doubles. Holben also doubled.
