More than just a typical mid-January section win, the Fox Chapel girls basketball team’s victory over Franklin Regional last week had a little extra significance.
With the win, the Foxes’ eighth of the season, it gave them as many wins as they had all of last season.
Now fully healthy after a season that handed Fox Chapel a slew of injuries, the return of some of the team’s top players have this team looking more like the WPIAL semifinalists from 2014 than the group that finished 5-7 in section play last year.
“It really has helped us feel more like a team … and learning again how to play along with each other, and I feel like it’s really helping us become more of a close-knit team,” senior forward Anna Kelly said.
