Coach Eric Ravotti hopes his Fox Chapel football team can improve on last season’s 2-7 mark.
A lot of those hopes are pinned on the strong right arm of quarterback Billy Urso.
Urso threw for 1,651 yards and 16 touchdowns last season.
“He gives us something to build around,” Ravotti said. “He does all the things you want your quarterback to do. He’s good at reading defenses and making adjustments on the run.”
Urso lost his leading target from last year in Brandon Mitchell and the Foxes also graduated their leading rusher, Nigel Garnett. Ravotti feels that senior Carrington Vaughn will fill the void at running back.
“He’s big, strong and fast,” Ravotti said. “We’re hoping for a big season from him to take some of the pressure off of Billy.”
The offensive line should help keep Urso in the game. It’s an experienced group with seniors Patrick Cullian, Darnell Foster, Cullen Higgins and Tyler Jones leading the way. Sophomore Alec Patsko will be the center.
Ravotti is hoping for good health for his team.
