The Fox Chapel football team rallied from a 20-18 halftime deficit to beat Moon, 47-27, on Friday night. The Foxes scored 23 points in the third quarter to pull away.
“The kids never gave up despite our 0-5 start,” FC coach Tom Loughran said. “They continued to work hard and decided that they were going to win some games this year. They never got down in the dumps because they knew that our first five games were very tough ones.”
Micah Morris rushed for 205 yards and Nick Gizzo added 175 as the Foxes amassed 396 yards rushing. Gizzo scored on runs of 11, 30 and 6 yards, while Morris scored from 5 and 7 yards. Gizzo also threw touchdown passes of 20 yards to Connor Romango and 6 yards to Cole Waxter. The Foxes are now 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the Class 5A Allegheny 9 Conference.
They play at Hampton (0-6, 0-4) at 7 p.m. Friday.
