Name: Serena Seeger
School: Fox Chapel
Grade: 10
Sport: Cross Country
Background: Seeger finished 17th at the WPIAL championships and 27th at the PIAA championships last year. She petered out a little as a freshman, but she had a lot of miles under her belt. She looks strong right now. She finished in second place at Gateway Invitational last week.
Coach Tom Moul said: “Serena’s a really good musician. She’s involved in orchestra and has a lot of talent. She has really prioritized training and has worked to get to a high level even as a young athlete. We had practice all summer and she came diligently. Serena’s good in the classroom and has an even keeled personality. She doesn’t get rattled at all. Last year she was in some big races as a freshman. She has a strong kick, she has an extra gear when it comes to the last 500 meters and she always seems to switch to it.”
