Elias Graca, a senior at Fox Chapel, recently concluded his indoor track season with a second-place finish in the 800-meter run at the state indoor track championships held at Penn State University on March 1.
His time of 1 minute, 50.86 seconds ranks him third in the country for high school runners, right behind John Lewis, who finished first at the meet with a time of 1:50.57 and Tennessee runner Terrell Jackson.
“Fox Chapel has, to my knowledge, never had an athlete ranked so highly in the nation,” FC track coach Tom Moul said. “I’m really proud of him and looking forward to what he might accomplish in the outdoor season.”
