The big-time players often come up big in the big games.
That’s what happened Friday night as Duke recruit Erin Mathias scored 13 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter to propel Fox Chapel to a 53-40 victory over Plum in a battle of undefeated teams in Section 2-AAAA play.
Mathias added 18 rebounds and six blocked shots for the Foxes (10-3, 6-0), who scored the final 11 points of the game, all from the free-throw line.
