FC Alum Helps Team into NCAA Tournament

Ohio Athletic Conference champion John Carroll University concluded a successful basketball season, finishing with a 26-4 record and advancing to the round of 32 in the NCAA Division III tournament.

Sophomore Brian Papich, a 2014 Fox Chapel graduate, played a big part in the team’s strong campaign as he provided valuable minutes off of the bench.

Papich made 39 of his 85 field goal attempts, converted 28 of 40 free throws, and had 14 blocks, 70 rebounds and 35 steals while playing 10-12 minutes a game. He averaged 3.9 points per game.

In the OAC championship game, he had three rebounds, two blocks and a steal in an 87-85 win. In the first round game of the NCAA tournament, he had two points, three rebounds and an assist in a win over St. Vincent, which featured former FC teammate Matt D’Amico.
