Fox Chapel won at McKeesport in dramatic fashion a month ago.
The Foxes did it again Friday night at home.
Matt D’Amico made two free throws with two seconds left to give Fox Chapel a 49-48 win in a key Class AAAA Section 2 game.
D’Amico scored a game-high 23 points for the Foxes (11-4, 6-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Brian Papich added 14 points.
McKeesport (10-4, 6-2) had won nine games in a row, highlighted by triumph Tuesday against section leader Gateway (10-2, 7-1). Mikell Moore led the Tigers with 12 points.The Tigers’ previous loss came Dec. 14 against Fox Chapel, 55-53, a game in which the Foxes scored the deciding points on a putback with 1.8 seconds left.
