Congratulations to the Fox Chapel Area High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams for winning their respective section championships! The teams’ records earned them home field advantage in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs. The girls’ won the WPIAL Section 3 championship with a record of 11-0-1. The last time the girls’ team won the title was in 2009, and the last time they went undefeated in section play was in 1999. The first round WPIAL playoff game is against Mt. Lebanon at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19, at Burke Stadium. The boys were section co-champions with a record of 11-1-0. It was the first time since 1999 that they won or shared the title. The Foxes will face Franklin Regional in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs at 8 p.m., Monday, October 21 at Burke Stadium. Good luck to both teams!
