Megan McCrady was voted the March lacrosse athlete of the month by ProGrass/MSA’s “First in Turf” awards program for her historic outstanding performance and the many contributions she’s made to the Foxes’ program.
Now a senior, Megan has been a team leader since her freshman year. She is a three-time all-section and all-WPIAL awardee and last year as a junior earned All-American honors. She currently is the all-time leading scorer for Fox Chapel Area High School girls’ lacrosse.
Megan also has had a stellar career in field hockey. The midfielder was a four-time all-section pick and was awarded all-WPIAL status three times. She also played a significant role in the team’s two WPIAL and four all-section titles.
“Meg is one of the most passionate players I have ever coached and just has a love for the game,” Foxes’ lacrosse head coach Katie Lundberg. “She’s a fierce scorer and defensive threat and what makes her so incredibly diverse and special is her unbelievable ability on the draw. So often that skill goes unnoticed because it doesn’t always give you a tally on the stats sheet. But without her ability to help us win that draw, we could never get the opportunities that we do offensively. She will continue to be a big reason we have success this season.”
Megan will continue to play an instrumental role in her final year with the team as they pursue a return to the WPIAL playoffs. After that, she will go on to play for the NCAA Division I Georgetown University Women’s Lacrosse Team.
