Fox Chapel Area placed second in the 2023-2024 Class 5A Trib Cup, a yearlong competition in 25 team sports to determine the top WPIAL sports program in each classification. In Trib Cup competition, schools earn points for playoff berths, section championships, PIAA playoff berths, and for winning WPIAL or PIAA championships or for being a district or state runner-up.
The Foxes finished behind Peters Township, which captured the Class 5A Trib Cup for the first time in 20 years, by a mark of 555-440.
“Fox Chapel Area’s top-two finish in this year’s Trib Cup is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes and coaches, and the unwavering support of our parents, guardians, and fans,” said Michael O’Brien, Fox Chapel Area’s director of athletics. “Our continued strong showing in these rankings illustrates the interconnectedness of athletics and academics, and how both are important to prepare our students for success in all aspects of life.”
