The Fox Chapel hockey team beat Penn-Trafford, 5-1, on Feb. 22 to improve to 12-10 in a warm-up for the PIHL Penguins Cup playoffs.
Despite being outshot 37-23, the Foxes picked up their fifth win in a row.
Shane Krhovsky got the Foxes on the board less than two minutes into the game with an assist from Paul Cullen. Jonny Rice scored the first of his three goals later in the period with the assist going to Jasper Uricchio. The Warriors made it 2-1 late in the period.
All of the second-period came from Rice as he had an unassisted power play goal and scored his 18th of the season with assists from Uricchio and Ben Friedland.
Shane Krhovsky scored the game’s final goal in the third period. Rice and Michael Hudic had assists.
Chad Veltri made 36 saves.
