Field hockey and girls’ lacrosse coach Jen McCrady has been selected as the “Most Positive Coach” in the area by the C Harper Positive High School Athlete Awards Committee, whose figurehead is Hines Ward.
Coach McCrady, known for her teams’ successes and positivity on the field and off, endorses a holistic approach to sports. She is devoted to teaching young females about accountability and the importance of making good choices in life. She and assistant coach Abby Dorrance also spend a great deal of time educating their players about the relationship between nutrition and peak performance in sports and academics.
During her 7 years coaching at Fox Chapel High School, Coach McCrady has led the field hockey team to numerous WPIAL playoff appearances, won a WPIAL championship and earned three runner-up titles. Last season, the team won their third consecutive WPIAL AAA Section- 2 championship. Also under her leadership, one of her field hockey teams advanced to the PIAA qualifiers for the first time in school history.
The C Harper Positive High School Positive Athlete awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 13, at the Heinz History Center.
