Bright spots have been elusive this season for Fox Chapel (1-4), but a few have stemmed from the play of junior quarterback Billy Urso.
Urso (5-foot-8, 185 pounds), a part-time starter as a sophomore, came into camp unsure whether he or Brandon Mitchell (6-6, 215) would handle snaps. Mitchell replaced Urso last season when Fox Chapel switched to a read-option style offense. But Mitchell ultimately moved to wide receiver, and Urso, a vocal leader who also starts at point guard in basketball, has completed 58 of 125 attempts for 697 yards and six touchdowns.
