The Fox Chapel boys basketball season came to a sudden halt Feb. 15 with a 49-45 loss to Bethel Park in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAAA playoffs.
The loss also signaled the end to the outstanding high school careers of Matt D’Amico and Brian Papich.
D’Amico became the school’s all-time scoring leader last month, and Papich topped the 1,000-point plateau three weeks ago.
Coach Zach Skrinjar said he hoped the Foxes’ season would be extended, but he knew the game would be a tight one.
