Fox Chapel senior Anthony Cordaro, a member of the Foxes golf team, recently gave a verbal commitment to attend Lehigh University.

Cordaro, who won the WPIAL individual title in 2014, also considered Bucknell and Allegheny.

“It eventually came down to Lehigh and Bucknell,” he said. “They’re both D-I schools, and I liked that. When I visited Lehigh, I got to meet the guys on the team. I also liked their golf course. I thought it was great. They had a very nice campus, and their business program was what I was looking for.

“Their golf team is having a pretty good season, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it next year.”

He acknowledges he will have a tough task making the lineup.

“There aren’t many seniors on the team,” Cordaro said. “There are four freshmen and four sophomores, so I’ll have my work cut out for me.

“I plan to work on getting more distance on my shots and cleaning stuff up around the green. I’m looking forward to playing in the fall season and the spring season at Lehigh.”
