Congratulations to Amanda Todd and Travis Eckman for their selection as Fox Chapel’s recipients of the 2012-2013 Northern Area Athletic Directors Association (NADA) Tri-Athlete Award. The student-athletes were honored at a recent banquet that honored three-sport athletes from 22 area high schools.
Amanda participated on the cross-country, swimming and lacrosse teams. She was this year’s only female to win a $250 scholarship from the directors association. She will attend Clemson University in the fall.
During his senior year, Travis was a tri-sport athlete in cross-country, swimming and track. He will continue his academic career at Penn State.
“It is highly unusual in today’s world to find students who have played three different sports throughout the year and also have been able to balance that with distinction in the classroom,” says Michael O’Brien, director for athletics for the Fox Chapel Area School District. “We are very proud of Amanda and Travis and what they have accomplished during their high school years and wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
