Dear Prospective Tennis Player,
The boys tennis season is right around the corner. If you intend to try out for the team, there is some important information you must take action on before the start of the season.
Prior to the first day of the season (March 4, 2024), every player must have completed the proper paperwork to ensure eligibility. No player is permitted to try out or practice without first fulfilling this simple requirement. Please visit http://www.fcasdathletics.org and click on the “FinalForms” button to complete your athletic registration online. If you have already completed a physical for fall/winter sports, you do not need another one, but you must still complete the spring sports registration. Any questions or problems with the process, please contact the athletics Ooffice directly at 412-967-2421. The last day to register for spring sports is Friday, February 23.
As stated, the first day of boys tennis is March 4, 2024. Regardless of the weather, we will meet at the high school tennis courts at 2:45 p.m. beginning with a team meeting and followed by tryouts. Players should come prepared, including appropriate attire for the weather.
The varsity team will be composed of the top 10 players who earn their spot through competition. The junior varsity team will be 10 underclassmen (no seniors) who earn their spot through competition. It is strongly encouraged that you train both on and off the court all year long.
We attempt to build a culture that instills a strong work ethic, pursuit of excellence, and love for competition that will serve you well on the court and in your life. In the process of building, training, and competing in that culture, you will learn some of life’s greatest lessons, get the most out of your abilities, and everything else will take care of itself.
Players note that we currently have NO practices or competitions scheduled over spring break from March 25-29. However, this could change as a last resort. I am giving advanced notice, as I know many of you will travel over break.
