Fox Chapel’s boys volleyball team qualified for the PIAA Class AAA playoffs for the first time since 2010, but the Foxes’ time in the state tournament began and ended within the confines of the WPIAL.
Eight-time defending WPIAL champion and 2013 state champ North Allegheny defeated Fox Chapel, 3-0, in a PIAA first-round match Wednesday night at North Hills. North Allegheny advances to the PIAA quarterfinals, where it will play District 6 champion State College on Saturday.
