Girls Reflect on Progress Made this Season

The basketball season ended for the Fox Chapel girls in the first round of the WPIAL Class AAAA playoffs, but coach Jennifer O’Shea felt it was a gratifying year for herself, the coaches and the players.

“We came a long way from the Seneca Valley tip-off tournament,” she said. “When your season comes to an abrupt, disappointing end, it is hard to sometimes look back and realize how much progress was made. After only eight wins last year, I was pleased that our team won 13 games in a difficult section along playing a tough nonsection schedule.

“Our girls really came together as a team and our underclassmen are eager to get back in the gym and start working for next year.”

The Foxes, who finished 13-9 after a first-round loss to Canon-McMillan, will lose seniors Kayla Slovenec, Anna Kelly, Sarah Supsura and Taylor Cohen to graduation but will return Gabby Badway and Bryanna Urso.
