The Fox Chapel baseball team finished as Section 3-AAA co-champions with Central Catholic last year as it compiled a 14-8 overall record and 8-2 section mark. The Foxes defeated Allderdice in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs before falling 1-0 to Bethel Park in the quarterfinals.
Coach Michael Frank lost his entire starting outfield of Josh Dunlap, Greg Yaksich and Trent Rothert along with third baseman Dan Vargo to graduation.
“These are all significant holes that will need to be filled both offensively and defensively,” Frank said. “We do have a lot of experienced starters returning, though.”
Those starters are seniors Zach Burkhart (C), Jacob Pilarski (P/OF), Patrick Monteverde (P/1B), Josh Anderson (SS), Michael Marsico (P/1B/OF), Ryan Humbert (P) and junior Josh Kieffer (IF/OF).
