Fox Chapel’s boys golf team was involved in a three-team match Sept. 13.

The Foxes beat Woodland Hills, 189-269, and Penn Hills, 189-245. Alex Lawson was the medalist with a 36. Anthony Cordaro and Trey Kelly each shot a 37, Scott Bitar posted a 39 and Amani Dambrosio shot a 40.

The Foxes bested Gateway, 184-206, on Sept. 16. Lawson shot a 33 to lead Fox Chapel. Grant Thiele followed with a 36 while Gregor Meyer and Andrew Friend each came in with a 38 and Kelly shot a 39.

• The Shady Side Academy boys golf team defeated Kiski Area, 202-226, in a Section 8-AAA match Sept. 14. Knox Coulter was the medalist for SSA with a 38. SSA beat Mars, 200-204, on Sept. 16. Coulter shot a 37 while Brice Delaney posted a 38.

Girls tennis

Fox Chapel girls tennis shut out Bethel Park, 5-0, on Sept. 12 to improve to 8-1. Charlotte James, Kristen Friday and Molly Weise won in singles while Moira McCormick/Margaux Essey and Sophia Lee/Morgann Green won in doubles.

The Foxes edged Baldwin, 3-2, on Sept. 16. Amanda Nord, Friday and Weise picked up wins in singles.

Field hockey

Fox Chapel field hockey beat Mt. Lebanon, 8-0, on Sept. 12. Abby Pitcairn led the attack with four goals and an assist. Paige Ryan, Mia Jamiolkowski, Isa lagazzi and Grace Knepshield scored goals, and Megan McCrady had a pair of assists. The Fox Chapel defense did not allow a shot on goal.

Girls volleyball

The Fox Chapel girls volleyball team played at home Sept. 12 and lost 3-0 to Hampton in a Section 4-AAAA match. Dominique Buccigrossi led FC with nine digs and Shannon Fisher had five kills. The Foxes fell to Armstrong, 3-0, on Sept. 15. Anna Fort and Desirae Buccigrossi had eight digs each. Katie Kenney had three blocks, Hayley Herrmann had four kills and Dominique Buccigrossi had eight assists.

College notes

Jason Krysinsky, who played on the Fox Chapel boys soccer team from 2013-16, is the starting center back at LaRoche College. In four games, he has a goal and an assist and has helped the Red Hawks to a 3-1 start.
