Field Hockey Player Gains International Experience

As a sophomore last fall, Fox Chapel’s Grace Knepshield made the All-WPIAL Class AAA field hockey team and was selected as the team MVP.

More importantly, she helped the Foxes claim the WPIAL championship with a title-game victory against North Allegheny.

She’s spent the summer traveling and playing for Field Hockey Life, a U19 team out of Ohio. The team qualified for the National Club Championships in Lancaster a few weeks ago, and she also traveled to Spain.

“It has been so much fun,” she said. “It’s been a blast. Our coach is amazing. We learn so much during these tournaments. We played Barcelona and the Netherlands in Spain. The European teams play a lot different than we do.
