Background: It was a busy summer for Fox Chapel’s Deena DeBaldo. Before her senior year, DeBaldo played on the Beadling Bulldogs U17 team. She and her teammates at Beadling won the Region 1 championship and reached the semifinals of the 2016 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas. The team finished third.
That summer came after a junior season at Fox Chapel where DeBaldo scored 19 goals and added nine assists. She is now a four-year starter and has already committed to play at Duquesne University.
DeBaldo picked up this high school season right where she left club season. She recorded a hat trick in Fox Chapel’s season-opener, a 9-1 thrashing of Class 1A Shady Side Academy.
