WPIAL Class AAA championships — Fox Chapel senior Miranda Simon finished third at the WPIAL Class AAA diving championships Monday at North Allegheny.
Simon recorded a score of 465.80, placing her behind champion Maria Lohman of Chartiers Valley and Pine-Richland’s Mallory Charles. She earned 16 team points, which will be added to Fox Chapel’s total at the WPIAL Class AAA swimming championships this weekend. Simon also qualified for the PIAA diving championships, which will be held in March at Bucknell.
Kiski Area freshman Paige Bachner placed 16th in the girls competition, earning one team point.
On the boys side, Fox Chapel senior John Zottola placed 15th, earning two team points.
