Fall Sports Review 2018

The girls’ cross country team had another strong showing at the PIAA Class AAA championships this fall. Three runners – two from the girls’ team and one from the boys’ – and a boys’ golfer were among the state’s top medalists. Fox Chapel Area also produced three section team champions – girls’ cross country, boys’ golf, and girls’ golf – and a handful of teams, including those previously mentioned, advanced to the WPIAL playoffs.

In other athletic department news, the expansion and overhaul of the fitness center was completed to better accommodate the growing numbers of athletes and students who are choosing healthier lifestyles and optimal fitness levels.

Finally, an interactive touchscreen was added to the Fox Chapel Area Sports Hall of Fame in the athletics wing of the high school. Former athletes and their accomplishments can be accessed by graduation year, class, or induction year. Unlike the crowded trophy cases, the HOF now can become as large as necessary, with no restrictions.
