Congratulations to the boys’ golf team for another great season.
The team captured another section title – the program’s 27th – and finished first out of eight playoff teams at the WPIAL semi-finals. There, they set a new WPIAL team scoring record of 379. In the WPIAL finals, the team lost by one point in a heartbreaking loss to Central Catholic High School to finish the year as the WPIAL runner-ups.
Individually, seniors Anthony Cordaro and Alex Lawson played very well at the PIAA Individual Western Regional Championship and qualified to make return trips to the state championship, which will take place October 24 and 25 in York, PA.
Anthony and Alex are among a total of six elite golfers who have qualified over the past four years to compete at the state’s highest level.
